Quick answer: Pine Creek is a small, newer community on Calgary's far south edge (SW addresses), along 210 Avenue SW and Sheriff King Street. It is mostly detached homes by Anthem, Brookfield Residential (Creekstone) and Broadview, with wetlands, ponds and mountain views. Its school site is still a future school, so students attend schools in nearby communities.

Pine Creek is a small, newer community on the far south edge of Calgary, with SW addresses, along 210 Avenue SW and Sheriff King Street. When it launched, the developer Anthem described it as a 120-acre community meant to be smaller and more intimate than the big master-planned suburbs. Today it includes Anthem’s homes and Brookfield Residential’s Creekstone area, and it is in the final years of construction. If you want a newer detached home with mountain views and a quieter street, it is worth a look.
Why people move to Pine Creek
Small and quiet. Pine Creek is low-density compared with most new Calgary communities, so traffic inside the neighbourhood stays light and it is easier to get to know your neighbours.
Nature and views. The community is built around natural wetlands and storm ponds, with three parks, two playgrounds and walking trails connecting the green spaces. Many homes have views toward the foothills and the Rocky Mountains, and the west-side location makes weekend trips to the mountains easy.
Getting around. Sheriff King Street and 210 Avenue are the main roads in. Stoney Trail and Macleod Trail are close by, and builders estimate about 5 minutes to Stoney Trail and 10 minutes to Deerfoot Trail. The nearest CTrain is the Red Line at Shawnessy station, a short drive north.
Things to do nearby. Fish Creek Provincial Park, Sirocco Golf Club and the newer shopping and services along Macleod Trail in the deep south are all a short drive away.
Schools in Pine Creek
According to the developer, Pine Creek’s school site is still a future school: the sports field and baseball diamond are built, but I could not find an announced opening date. Until then, students attend Calgary Board of Education and Calgary Catholic School District schools in nearby communities, which can mean busing.
- Public (Calgary Board of Education): use the CBE’s “Find a School” tool with the exact address.
- Catholic (Calgary Catholic School District): use the CCSD school finder for the designated Catholic schools.
Designations in south Calgary have changed often as new communities grow, so always confirm the designated school for a specific address with the school board before you buy.
What kinds of homes can you buy?
Pine Creek is mostly single-family homes, which is a big part of its appeal:
- Anthem: detached front-drive and laned homes, including walk-out lots backing onto ponds or green space, roughly 1,364 to 2,605 square feet with 3 to 4+ bedrooms.
- Brookfield Residential (Creekstone): front-garage homes up to about 2,484 square feet with 3 to 7 bedrooms and optional legal basement suites. In October 2026 Brookfield lists prices starting in the upper $600Ks, with fewer than 15 homes left.
- Broadview Homes (Hudson in Pine Creek): front-attached garage homes and bungalows, a good fit if you want main-floor living.
Earlier phases also had paired (semi-detached) homes, so resale duplexes come up from time to time.
Tips before you buy in Pine Creek
- New or resale? With the last new homes selling, compare remaining builder inventory with lightly used resale homes. Resale often comes with landscaping, fencing and window coverings already done.
- Price the walk-out. Walk-out lots on ponds cost more. Decide how much the view and extra basement light are worth to you.
- Check the suite paperwork. If you are counting on a basement suite for rental income, make sure it is a legal, City-approved suite.
- Test the commute. Drive Macleod Trail or Stoney Trail on a weekday morning, and check bus connections if you plan to use the CTrain.
- Compare with the southeast. If you want more amenities within walking distance, see my Seton guide. Want a small-town feel a little farther south? Read my Okotoks guide. Just across Macleod Trail, Legacy has new homes, its own shopping and two new Catholic schools.
